Building a career that is now 18 years in the making offers great perspective. However, after all the gigs, the sessions, the travel, the good times and bad, Boston-based drummer Jeff Muzerolle admits that he still thrives off of the experience, regardless of the gig:

"I still love the whole process of playing a gig or a session. From load-in to load-out, the whole experience always fills me with energy, joy and passion. I don't care if the gig is a dive bar in the middle of nowhere or a stadium concert in front of thousands. Maybe it's a recording session in someone's basement or a highly-funded record date in a million-dollar recording facility in NYC. I love it all...always have and always will."

Jeff started playing the drumkit when he was 5 years old and played his first professional gig at the age of 10. During his teen years Jeff played throughout the northeast with several different ensembles spanning rock, blues, funk, and jazz idioms. It was also during this time that he began studying with jazz drummer/composer Steve Grover.

After winning a scholarship to Berklee College of Music Jeff studied there for 4 years and honed his craft under the tutelage of drummers such as Kenwood Dennard, Jon Hazilla, Jon Ramsey, Skip Hadden, Larry Finn and Rick Considine. Jeff graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1999 majoring in performance.
Since then, Jeff has been a very active musician in the Boston scene as well as performing for national and international tours. Jeff has also participated in many recording projects as drummer and/or producer/engineer. Jeff’s approach to the drumset is centered on precision, musicality, and emotion. His influences include musicians such as Elvin Jones, John Bonham, Tony Williams, Terry Bozzio, Vinnie Colaiuta, Steve Gadd, Jim Keltner, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Frank Zappa, Trent Reznor, Jaco Pastorius, and many others.
